Welcome Funding for Welcoming Spaces

Welcome Funding for Welcoming Spaces

The NSW Government has initiated a billion-dollar boost to improve school facilities and create inclusive, practical spaces for all students, especially access and safety for kids with disabilities.

More than a fresh coat of paint, this investment has the potential to transform schools into places where every kid can thrive. Accessibility isn’t just about ramps and regulations – it’s about designing spaces everyone can move through and rest in, making inclusive design the ultimate key to seamless access.

Felton is at the forefront of making this happen with our wheelchair-friendly outdoor furniture.

A place in the sun

We love our outdoors, but for some, enjoying the sun comes with challenges. For students in wheelchairs, whether at school or the park, sitting in direct sunlight without shelter can mean missing out on the fun. That’s why we design our premium outdoor aluminium furniture with accessibility in mind.

Tailored to every need

With their wheelchair-friendly furniture, Felton doesn’t settle for one-size-fits-all solutions. We understand that different spaces have different needs, so we offer customisation options for height, length, and seating configurations. To blend functional with fabulous and make a statement, we can powder coat your furniture in six vibrant colours.

Intrinsic inclusion

The NSW Government’s school infrastructure investment includes $150 million for disability access and safety. True inclusion requires practical actions and infrastructure to honour every child’s dignity and rights. Collaboration among families, educators, and governments is essential. Inclusive principles should be embedded in a child’s environment so that they feel valued and supported, with equal opportunities to grow.

Wheelchair-friendly range

Felton’s range includes the Interactive Eco-Trend Sheltered Park Setting, an accessible seating option with spots for two wheelchairs. Because we build with premium aluminium, these settings are warp, rust and fade-proof, with a Colorbond Roof for maximum weather protection. Choose your colour, and rely on the bolt-down lugs for rock-solid stability and safety. Designed for inclusivity, these sleek settings enable kids of all abilities to play and hang out together.

The bigger picture

This is a substantial investment in school facilities, but it’s not just a financial commitment. It’s part of a broader strategy to build stronger communities and foster environments where inclusivity is the norm. By creating high-quality, inclusive environments, every student gets the opportunity to shine. It’s not just about constructing buildings and facilities; it’s about nurturing and empowering educators, families and supportive communities.

The future is inclusive

Felton is proud to play a role in making spaces for all with our high-quality, customisable outdoor furniture that meets the needs of all students. The government’s investment can help pave the way for a future where every child can learn, play, and grow in spaces that mirror their value and potential. Let’s collaborate to find the best accessible configurations for your space.
