Cairns Regional Council

Having previously supplied Cairns Regional Council with grandstands, Felton Industries was the first choice when Koppens Constructions, in conjunction with Cairns Regional Council, needed covered grandstands for the Cairns Netball Association’s new netball facility. The new grandstands were required to provide stand-alone shade and shelter for the large crowds that support local netball while being built to cope with the extremes of weather that characterise Queensland’s tropical north coast.

Felton Industries supplied 13 Sunsafe Select Grandstands for installation by Koppens Constructions at the new facility. As a standard product in the Felton range, the grandstands could be manufactured very quickly. The Sunsafe Select Grandstands are fully modular and were easily installed around the perimeter of the new courts in under 10 working days with no disruption to the competition schedule or crowd access. Made from premium Australian aluminium, the grandstands include footrests and backrests to provide stylish and comfortable shelter for up to 40 people per unit. Importantly, all Felton products are built to last and the Sunsafe Select Grandstand is engineered to withstand extreme weather conditions including the destructive power of a category 3 cyclone.

The Sunsafe Select Grandstands have been a great success and the smiles on the faces of the netball team tell the story.
