Jumbo Park Settings at Sydney Olympic Park

Sydney Olympic Park is one of Australia’s leading event venues, host to a variety of sports and entertainment centres. The venue includes well known arenas such as ANZ stadium, Spotless stadium, Qudos Bank Arena, Tennis Centre, and Sydney Showground. Within this complex, an array of events are hosted spanning across major concerts, festivals, sporting matches and exhibitions throughout the year.  With major rugby league event State of Origin upcoming, expected to draw in crowds of participants into the venue, Sydney Olympic Park Authority had a requirement for increased seating capacities.

Having previously partnered with Felton Industries, Sydney Olympic Park Authority reached out to Felton Industries to see if they could assist with their increased capacity requirements. Initially contacting Felton in June 2021, they outlined a unique set of criteria for Felton to fit. The seating provided needed to be:

• Durable seating suitable for outdoor requirements
• Low maintenance, with easy cleaning options due to its close proximity to restaurants and outdoor food trucks.
• Colourful outdoor seating that was inviting for individuals attending events.
• Accessories available to attach umbrellas and shaded structures.
• Delivery to be completed within specified time constraint.

In order to best meet Olympic Park’s selection criteria for seating, 13 Jumbo Park Settings were selected in an array of powder coated colours, including purple, green, yellow, and orange. The Jumbo caters for flexible seating with its free-standing provision option, allowing the Olympic Park team to position seating in high traffic areas. To match the powder coating options selected, coloured safety end caps were also selected as an additional colourful safety feature. The addition of safety end caps also assists in reducing likelihood for injury by sharp edges. Seating 12 to 14 people per table setting, this seating option suited the increased seating requirements for the State of Origin Season.

With the 2022 Season beginning in June, the team at Felton were aware there were strict deadlines that needed to be adhered to. Delivery was coordinated promptly allowing plenty of time for the Olympic Park team to coordinate positioning in high traffic areas. The seating solution was provided, with prompt delivery, ensuring our team worked well within budget constraints.
