Outdoor lunch seating area at Benarkin State School
Benarkin State School is a ‘great little school’ that supports its students learning, and their growth as the future caretakers of our world. As part of their ‘learning and growing together’ philosophy, the school participates in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden National Program. Each week, students are involved in activities in their 140 square metre gardens – sowing, growing and harvesting vegetables, fruits and herbs. This produce is then carried into their kitchen – the Spud Snack Shack – where children prepare beautiful fresh foods. This wonderful program teaches the children about organic and sustainable gardening practices and about safe, preparation of nutritious and enjoyable foods.
To provide a suitable area for the children to enjoy the fruits of their labour, the School created a dedicated, undercover eating area outside the Spud Snack Shack. Wanting to create a relaxed, café-style atmosphere, the school contacted the team at Felton Industries for advice on the right outdoor furniture to complete their vision. Our classic Park Settings provided a practical and comfortable space for the children to eat, thanks to its spacious tabletop and seating for up to 8 people. Adding our Bench Seats with Backrest to the newly laid artificial grass area created a separate space where the children can meet and relax in the shade. The addition of several Free Standing Stackable Bench Seats creates the opportunity to add extra seating wherever it might be needed.
Constructed completely from premium, Australian aluminium, and fitted with Felton’s patented Safety End Caps as standard equipment, the new outdoor furniture provides a safe, stylish and long lasting environment for the children to enjoy on their learning journey. According to the school, ‘the students, staff and community are thrilled to have our dedicated eating area completed with the purchase of Felton’s picnic settings. Thanks for the great service – we are happy to recommend your products and service.”
