Felton recently worked with John Graham from Greater West Landscapes on a project to enhance the seating at Garside Park within the Parramatta City Council. The goal of the project was to create an inviting outdoor space with ample seating, including player shelters and smaller spectator areas.
Project Requirements
Central to the project was the need for an extended grandstand area that effortlessly integrated into the park’s existing layout. The design required spacious seating to accommodate both players and spectators comfortably.
Project Solution
Felton recommended the 9 metre Deluxe Grandstand as the primary solution for extending the seating area. This unit was customised to ensure a continuous and visually appealing seating arrangement along the designated area of Garside Park. Additionally, a 6 metre Select Grandstand was selected for another section of the park, providing additional seating options. To cater to the needs of players, Felton also installed two 12-person Soccer Team Shelters, enhancing the park’s functionality and comfort. These shelters feature a stylish curved roof which provides ample shade without obstructing the views, allowing spectators to watch live games comfortably from the shelters.
Result
The customisation of the 9 metre Deluxe Grandstand allowed for a seamless continuation of seating, creating an organised and attractive public space that met the aesthetic and functional requirements set forth by the project stakeholders. The integration of both grandstand options and players shelters not only improved the park’s overall appeal but equally contributed to its usability for various community activities and events.
