Forbes North Public School’s Outdoor Space Transformation

Located in the Central West of New South Wales, Forbes North Public School is a quaint primary school with 270 students currently enrolled. The school provides quality teaching and learning in a safe environment and offers numerous programs including literacy and numeracy, individual programs for students with disabilities, special early support and many more. The school grounds also boast a big open space for sporting and events.

Project Requirements

Forbes North Public School were facing a big challenge: their outdoor spaces were in dire need of improvements, and there was an urgent requirement for additional seating for school sports and events. Further, to shield students from the harsh central NSW sun, the school was seeking a solution that combined both seating and shade.

Project Solution

Felton Industries responded to this challenge, offering insights into producing a robust and well-thought-out design plan. After careful consideration of the space, safety, and product selection, the design team at Felton Industries proposed the addition of a Deluxe Broad Roof Sheltered Park Setting. This product not only added much-needed seating capacity but also incorporated a domed roof to protect against the harsh sun.

The school was impressed with the unit’s performance that they decided to invest in more outdoor furniture. The need for extra space, safety and comfort led to the additional purchase of the Double Plank Spectator Seating. The spectator seating was customised in the second round of purchases, increasing the length up to 6m. This maximised the use of space and provided a more comfortable seating arrangement.

The Colorbond roof, which is available in a variety of colours, provides more than two square meters of protection from diverse weather conditions. The shelter is also equipped with bolt-down lugs for optimal stability and safety making it ideal for the school’s grounds.
